35-year-old African American female complain of diffuse ongoing abdominal for last 6 month. She states, “I have always had a sensitive stomach, but this is the worse it has been”. She complains of diarrhea after spicy food, food with garlic, and food that is high in fiber. She has some spotting of blood in her stool occasionally after eating foods with red pepper. Alcohol makes her symptoms worse and she has been drinking more due to stress at work. Her grandfather died of colon cancer at age 78. She had her colonoscopy five years ago and states “everything was normal”.
